Sosai Mas Oyama (The Founder of Kyokushin Karate) when asked what the secret of his martial arts was replied with one word, sweat!
There is no secret to the martial arts as there are no secrets to life. Rewards come to those who persist and are willing to put in
hard work regardless of set backs and circumstances. The Japanese saying,"Eight Times Down, Nine Times Up", encapsulates this.
The Kyokushin 'Osu' means to persevere regardless and training is all about perseverence.
Training will test you, it will exhaust you, it will co-ordinate you, it will center you, it will help you relax, it will give you
confidence, it will teach you about yourself by exposing your strengths and weaknesses and it will strengthen your body and engage
your mind - the place all dreams begin.
Training is especially good for kids because it teaches them respect and inner strength early in life. Kids are like a sponge and
absorb everything around them. Their environment is their first view of the world and the martial arts provides a solid foundation
for them to build from. We have had great results with kids.
